Kevin HolmesPRINCIPALKevin joined MBTW in 1998 as a golf course architect with over seven years experience in the golf course design and development industry. Since joining the firm, Kevin has been responsible for projects involving golf course design at the community level, including the Rosedale Village project in the City of Brampton. His commitment to designing top quality, cost effective golf courses is achieved through sound technical experience and a true understanding of the game. His goal on each project is to provide the client with the best possible routing, emphasizing playability, while he maintains an environmental sensitivity that is required to obtain approvals. During his final year of study as a Landscape Architect at the University of Guelph, Kevin studied at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, Scotland, where he focused his study on traditional golf course design, travelling extensively throughout Britain. Upon returning to Guelph, he applied this research towards environmentally sensitive resort planning and golf course design. Upon graduation, Kevin worked as a golf course architect and since then, he has gained valuable experience in all aspects of course design including feasibility and site analysis, market and needs studies, master planning, and routing plans, environmental impact studies, construction drawings, turf management reports, golf course renovation work and construction supervision. Kevin is a low handicap golfer who has played competitive university golf at the international level. Having played many rounds in Britain, Canada, and the United States, he has gained an appreciation of traditional golf course design. |
